About Us

Bringing Our Community to Life, One Stage at a Time!

Newtown Arts Company is a nonprofit, volunteer-driven organization dedicated to celebrating and promoting the performing arts through high-quality, community-based theatre. Rooted in the heart of historic Newtown, Pennsylvania, we are passionate about creating opportunities for local talent to shine—both on and off stage—while enriching the cultural life of our community. For over four decades, we’ve proudly produced a wide range of theatrical performances, from beloved classics to modern favorites, with proceeds helping fund scholarships for local students pursuing the arts. We believe in the transformative power of community theatre to educate, entertain, and connect, fostering creativity and shared purpose that strengthens our community.

In addition to our theatrical productions, we cultivate a love for the performing and fine arts through several key programs:

  • Classics for Kids – A two-week after-school program for ages 6–14, introducing young performers to classic plays and theatre skills in a fun, engaging environment.
  • Bucks County Playhouse Student Theater Festival – Giving local middle and high school students the chance to perform for their peers, receive professional feedback, and celebrate their talents in an awards presentation.
  • Annual Scholarship Awards – Providing financial support to area students pursuing higher education in the performing or fine arts, funded in part by show proceeds and other fundraising initiatives, and awarded through an audition process.
  • Stars of Tomorrow – A week-long, hands-on theatre experience for ages 6–14, teaching acting, movement, music, and technical stagecraft, culminating in a live performance.

We are always exploring new programs and opportunities to bring the magic of live theatre to our community, inspiring creativity and connection for all ages. Live theatre is a vital part of our cultural fabric—whether you want to entertain or be entertained, Newtown Arts Company has something for you!
